Color Gel Application

In color gel application: the thickness of color gel is very important. It cannot be too thin or too thick, for it will not cure properly.

Five important points to keep in mind:
1. If you see some lifting, buff with a 240-grit file going against the lift to remove and blend with the natural nail plate. (Do not over file)
2. Use a 100/180-grit file to reshape the nail, keeping sides straight and the form even.
3. Buffer the remaining surface with a 240-grit buffer to ensure all removal of shine and lift.
4. Clean nail dust from the surface and cleanse the nails.
5. Make sure you manicure the nails before applying color gel.

Color Gel Application
1. Apply Protein Bond
2. Scoop a small amount of clear gel thinly on the brush hairs then apply on nail - Cure in UV lamp for 2 min.
3. According to the customer’s condition of the nail, you can apply one more layer of clear gel. - Cure in UV lamp for 2 min.
4. Start by applying a color gel thinly cross the free edge, then move the brush back up to the cuticle and gently stroke down to the edge of the nail as you would do a regular polish. Make sure the gel does not touch the skin. - Cure in UV lamp for 2 min.
*A second coat of color gel is required to bring out the color on the nail, but sometimes you may need a third layer depending on the color after curing in the UV lamp.
*It is not recommended to apply thick layers of color gel but rather two or three thin layers of gel in order to avoid air-bubbles. Air-bubbles can also form when the gel is applied with haste.
5. Use cotton balls or gauge pads saturated with Cleanser to wipe off the stickiness and give shine to the gel.
OPTIONAL: if you want more shine and protection, you may apply a thin layer of clear gel then cure in the UV lamp for 2 minutes. Then wipe off with cleanser just like before.
6. Apply cuticle oil
It is recommended that the customer apply cuticle oil daily to keep the gel from chipping or cracking.

French White Application
1. Follow the steps for regular color gel until step 3
2. Rather than applying the color gel of your choice, apply White color gel across the free edge of the nail then cure.
3. If the color does not show, apply a thin second coat of White color gel on the edge. - Cure in UV lamp for 2 min.
4. Then apply a layer of clear gel. - Cure in UV lamp for 2 min.
5. Wipe with cotton balls or gauge pads saturated with Cleanser.
6. Apply Cuticle Oil.

Color Maintenance Tip:
Use the electric file machine or a regular file to gently file off just the color of the nail then repeat the steps to the color gel system.
